Starbucks Caramel Macchiato Recipe


Starbucks Caramel Macchiato
You can purchase all the specialty syrups used in Starbucks's drinks at any Starbucks coffee shop.
Serves: 1

Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons Starbucks' Vanilla Syrup
  • 1/2 cup fresh brewed espresso
  • 8 ounces steamed milk
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons Starbucks' Caramel Sauce

Cooking Directions:

Add vanilla syrup to 16oz glass. Add steamed milk and caramel sauce and stir well.

  2. from what I know, that is not how it is prepared. caramel syrup first, then steamed milk, then a shot of espresso on top and caramel drizzle. that's how you prepare it the starbucks way ^_^

  4. I know for a fact that they use the vanilla syrup in it.. I ask for them to not use it in mine because I do not like the taste of it. At least that is how they make it at the Starbucks I go to.

I was a barista quite a while back and unless they've changed it in recent years a Caramel Macchiato starts off with vanilla syrup - 1 pump less than other drinks typically get (ie, 1 pump less than a vanilla latte) then steamed milk with a little foam, the espresso is poured into the steamed milk and topped with a drizzle of caramel syrup just like ice cream topping. The espresso is poured into the milk to create a marked effect, which is what macchiato means in Italian.
